Kids, welcome to Stubb and TT’s Blog.
The days of May are creeping up on us. Stay outside. Ride your skateboard until the moon lights up and the stars pop out. Sniff the blooming flowers and grass growing. Listen to the sounds of bee’s buzzing, birds singing and bikes racing by.
Kids, head’s up! Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 10th.
Mother’s day gives me a sad feeling because I don’t remember my mother. I’m sure she was smart and extremely good looking, probably a prize winning dog.
I recall, I was in a litter with several other yapping puppies. Somehow, I ended up dumped by the road. I was lucky because a boy named Ben saved me from being smashed by a car. I was locked up at city pound and no one wanted to adopt me. The guard said, “You’re headed for DOG HEAVEN.” Mrs. Prance came along and adopted me just in time.
TT my Terrible Tummy is yelling. He hates anything SAD. TT here. Stubb, forget about your Mother. She probably ran away from you. A bunch of noisy puppies would drive me crazy!! Let’s think about food. I’m hungry!!
Kids, now you know why I call TT my tummy, MEAN!!
I have to look at my WHOLE picture. There’s always good things that happen to us and sometimes sad things. The sad things scare us but they make us strong. I met some nasty guards at the dog pound. When I visited Italy the Colosseum Cats almost scratched my eyes out! The good thing was Mrs. Prance and Benjamin turned out to be my best friends.
Remember, give your mom a BIG hug and some flowers on Mother’s Day. Since I don’t have a mom I look for a substitute in the park. There are lots of older women sitting on the benches and some of them look like grannies. They feed birds, watch kids play and sometimes give out treats. I pick out a lady with a frown on her face. Who knows maybe her kids live somewhere else and she never sees them or maybe she’s not feeling very good . . . I prance up to her, roll over and sit up. My routine ends with my head on her lap, a dog smile, and a lick on her hand. I wait for her smile and usually I get it.Then I’m DOUBLE happy.
Kids, we need more smiling dogs. No one likes a growler!!! So I’ve learned to stretch my lips wide, puff air through my nose and my cute dog smile appears.
TT is butting in again! Stubb, forget about smiling dogs. YUCK! Good idea about the Substitute Mom, Older gals usually carry treats with them. We’re not choosy. We’ll take anything, even a breath mint.
“TT, calm down. People are more important than FOOD!!!!“
