Ho Hum Freedom

Hey Kids,

I4tht’s almost the 4th of JULY!! Get ready for fireworks, parades, picnics, and more FOOD. Not just any food; hotdogs, hamburgers, chocolate chip cookies and of course creamy, delicious ice cream.

TT and I are sneaking and peeping around. We’re at the school near the park. We hang out there because we like kids. They’re FUN.

TT here. Watch what you say. I like kids, hmm???? On my list:  Food is number 1 Kids number 4.

“Shame on you! Think of all the fun we’ve had with kids.”

I like the kids that drop their food.

I creep up near an open window and listen to the teacher.

“Students, what is the 4th of July about?”

TT checking in. Those silly kids don’t know. The 4th of July is about FOOD. Filling up the tank.

“Do you have an answer, Eva.”

“It’s our country’s birthday.”

“Oliver, what do you think about the 4th of July?”

“In 1776 on July 4th America’s leaders signed the Declaration of Independence. Which gave us freedom from Great Britain.

“Mia, you’re waving your hand. What do you think?”

“That was a long time ago. Do we still have freedom? What is freedom?”

TT here. Boring, double boring. Who cares about freedom? Ho Hum freedom.

“TT, people come to America from all over the world because of our freedoms.”

I thought it was our food. Everyone wants FOOD.

“No, it’s not food!! It’s Freedom. We can go where we want and do what we want. We can choose what we want to do. Of course, we should try to be fair and treat others like we’d like to be treated.”

I’m nice and I’m fair. I love being your hungry tummy. I like to choose my food.

We move away from the school window. “TT, we were free to travel with Mrs. Prance to Italy, England and France. Remember all the fun we had and the delicious food we gobbled.

I like being Super Stubb the American Dog.

Bye Kids, enjoy the fireworks and have fun. Appreciate being an AMERICAN.

Stubb and TT
