Hey Kids,
Hello, Summer! Goodbye school lunches, books, homework and Rules. Hope this month of June is fun with Father’s Day almost here.
I feel a pinch. Who cares Stubb, you don’t have a dad! So there! I said it, and I’m GLAD.
“TT my Terrible Talking Tummy, you are SO MEAN! I must have a dad somewhere.”
Don’t worry about a long lost dog dad!
” I have his ears; one up and one down. I remember, he was big and kinda white. Then one day Dad was gone.”
Shame on me! I’m a hungry tummy without a dad or mom. I Just Am. Sorry, my MEANS took over, and I yelled at you. Happy Dad Hunting.
I squish plop to the park and sit under my favorite tree. There’s a big, brown, fuzzy fellow near the picnic table. His ears are right, but the color is wrong.
This dog looks dirty. Give him a try anyway.
I walk up to him. He’s crunching a bone. He growls, crunches and GROWLS again!
Stubb, grab the bone! Get movin!
“TT, I don’t want a bone, I want to find my dad.”
I cross the park and squish plop down a street near the church.
Dad Hunting is a big job. My Dad must have been a fantastic fellow because i’m smart and BRAVE. I help people and love kids. I eat and eat with my very unusual Talking Tummy.
Stubb, if you love kids help that little crying girl sitting on the porch steps. Get movin!
I trot up to her.I lean in and give her a snuggle. Her blond curls tickle my nose.
“I feel better having you here with me.” She gives me another squeeze. “My dad was going to visit me. Mom told me he will come tomorrow.”
I lay my head on her lap. She giggles and pats me. “Happy pooch, keep snuggling. I miss Daddy, but you’re here NOW.” She wipes away a tear.
Her squeezes and hugs push my sadness away.
TT announces in a loud voice. We might find your dad tomorrow.
Yes, but I’m going to enjoy the love I have right here and NOW.
Kids, hug Dad on June 17th. If he isn’t around welcome the LOVE NOW. Love from your family, your teacher, your friends, and of course your PETS. Even your goldfish will give you a wiggle!!!!!!!!
Happy Summer
Stubb and TT
