Welcome Friends,
TT and I are chasing after our runaway summer.
Kids, some of you are in school, and the rest are ALMOST ready to start school!!
So what’s good about school; old and new friends, exciting books and computer projects, learning new things, and believe it or not most teachers enjoy teaching. They can help you learn about yourself and your world.
TT here. Who cares about school? BORING!!
“TT, We’ve gobbled lots of school lunches. Students are generous, and they drop yummy things, especially if they’re running out to recess.”
Yup, FOOD IS EVERYTHING. I’m hungry. Let’s get to school and have a gobbler.
“We’re off, TT. We’ll see some friends and maybe find a nibbler.”
I squish plop into school and see crowds of students wearing new shoes and backpacks. I sneak and creep up to a group of laughing kids.
TT screams,I smell food. Move closer. Wag your tail. Get movin.
A tall boy with brown hair introduces himself to the chattering students. “Hi I’m Ramee. I moved here this summer.” He speaks in a soft voice. “I’m from the country of Syria. I hope to learn more English.”
I watch the kids. The chattering stops and the staring starts. A girl smiles and flips her straight blond hair, “I’m Emma. I hope you like coming to our school.”
Ramee frowns and shakes his head. My home and school were bombed. Our family had to leave to escape the war. I’ve missed months of school, but at last I’m here! Emma, I know I’ll like your school.”
A boy with curly black hair looks around at his friends. “I’m sorry! Ramee, we’re all sorry.”
The bell rings, and the kids walk Ramee into the school.
Well, friends, don’t take your school for granted. Some kids miss their chance to go to school. Work hard and be the BEST you can be.
I hear running feet. Two girls race by me. A sandwich flips out of one of the open backpacks.
TT screams, School Gobbler! Get movin!
I shoot ahead grab the sandwich and hide under some bushes. “TT, we’re in luck! A ham sandwich filled with cheese on a crunchy bun!”
TT squeals, I love kids. I love school. Hang around until recess. That’s an ORDER!
Friends, keep smiling. You have a lot to smile about.
