What happened to our FLASH, BANG BAM 4th of July??

TT your amazing Talking Tummy checking in. I don’t see fireworks, parades or  people. All I see are MASKS!!! Stubb, you look dumb in that mask! Dogs don’t NEED MASKS.  

“Calm down! The mask keeps us safe. We have to forget about smiles, hugs and kisses. It’s all about SAFE.  Heads up TT, the Covid-19 Virus has captured the 4th of July.”

Who Cares about the Covid Virus? It doesn’t scare me! 

“TT, this is serious!! The important thing is taking care of ourselves and just plain caring, EVERYONE MATTERS.”

I don’t like SERIOUS! I want it to be YESTERDAY. I want to come and go, play, and gobble. I want my FREEDOM! I want BEFORE!!!!!!!!!

“Sorry, TT, it’s NOW, one day at a time

He’s crying. I hate NOW, it STINKS!

“Our job, especially NOW is to give SNUGGLERS.”

I trot up to three kids playing catch. One boy is sitting nearby. His head is down and his mask hangs on one ear.

This kid looks weird! Keep your distance.

I ignore TT and plop down. He starts petting me and mumbles,”I’m tired of wearing a mask.” He frowns, “But I have to wear it.” He stares at me. “I like your mask.”

I crawl on his lap and lick his cheek. I give him my SNUGGLER. He grins, “I wiggle and lay my head on his chest, and he hugs me.

“I’m not allowed to hug Granny. I miss hugs.” He squeezes me tighter. “I’ll be here tomorrow, I’ll look for you.” He puts on his mask and pulls a dog treat out of his pocket. “I don’t have a pup but I always carry treats. I’m glad you found me.” He jumps up and joins the ball game.

TT giggles. Happy 4th of July to that delightful kid and his TREATS.
