Hey Kids,
Happy Valentine Day!!
TT and I are sitting in the park near a school. He has been crying all day. He’s not whining about wanting Valentine candy. He’s worried and I guess I’m worried too.
“Stubb, it’s Valentines Day and NO ONE LOVES US”
“TT, I love you . . . most of the time.”
“That’s not good enough. I want to be loved all the time by everybody.”
“TT, most people we meet are our friends. Our friends are nice to us.”
“We need hugs. We need ear scratches and some kisses and of course some treats.”
“TT, try loving yourself.”
“I eat too much and I yell. I never smile and I’m a complainer.”
“TT I love you. You’re ALWAYS with me. I’m never lonesome.”
“Stubb, we have fun. We travel and we both like to have a gobbler. I love you and I love me. Its TRUE! I’m a wonderful, DELIGHTFUL TUMMY.”
“Here come the kids! School is out. I bet one of them will give me a hug or something.”
“They are walking by. They’re looking at their Valentine cards and eating candy. Stubb, THEY DON’T CARE!”
“TT, relax. Just wait.
“LIFE IS CRUEL. I feel terrible. Who cares about a short, fat dog and his Talking Tummy!”
A small boy with brown hair stops. He pulls a valentine out of his pocket and runs toward me. Life is good!!!!!!!! The rest of the kids follow.
“TT we’re surrounded!”
“I can’t look.”
We get at least 10 hugs, 4 nose kisses 1 back scratch and 3 Valentine cookies.
Best of all we hear, “Stubb, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
TT and I hope you have a special Valentine Day, too.
Happy hearts to you.
Stubb and TT
