Friends, let’s celebrate!
Wave your flag! Watch the fireworks! Eat yummy hotdogs. Don’t forget to gobble a juicy hamburger dripping with cheese and slurp down some ice cream.
It’s the 4th of July.
Kids, here’s a 4th of July joke. What did one firecracker say to the other firecracker?
My pop’s bigger than your pop. Hehe ha!!!
TT pushing in. Who Cares about July 4th and firecrackers?
“TT, July 4th stands for FREEDOM. We live in America. We can come, go and do what we choose, as long as we don’t hurt someone else.”
You’re just a dumb dog what do you know?
“When I visit the school I listen. TT I love learning about our country. We are lucky to live here! In China, they eat dogs; they’d love to nibble on a chubby tummy.
Please, I’ll be a good tummy! Please! China never! I like it here!
“TT, look up at the red and gold fireworks.”
Remember, I’m stuck looking down. Anyway, there’s too much light and noise. I’m scared!
“More dogs run away on July 4th than any other holiday. I’m not afraid. I love the booms, bangs and explosions.”
Look Stubb! Here come two dogs.
“Their eyes are glassy, and their paws are flying. They’re SCARED.”
I jump in front of the dogs.”Hey pups, slow down. Celebrate, don’t run away.”
They skid to a stop. The big gray dog growls, ” Celebrate! We’re going to DIE.
“Follow me, pups.” I lead them to a quiet place away from the firecrackers, smoke, and noise. The dogs fall to the ground and whimper.
TT alert! Tell them about China and they’ll settle down.
“You guys are safe here. Be happy that we live in America. Go home before you get lost and end up in the dog pound.”
TT screams or China!!!
I scavenger some hotdogs near a garbage can. We all share and have our own dog celebration.
“Kids, don’t take the USA for granted. Not everyone everywhere has the freedom to do and be what they want.”
Happy 4th of July and have a double dipper cone for TT and me.
