Different Kinds of Moms

Hey Kids,Let’s celebrate all kinds of Mothers.

                Ida Pearl Our Mom

TT my Terrible Talking Tummy yells, Stubb, you were dumped by the road! It’s a sad, true story. Your Mother is missing!!!

“TT, STOP! We have Ida Pearl; she’s our SUBSTITUTE MOM. She cares about me. I love her hugs and she feeds me. Ida loves me. I just know it.”

TT replies, When I get one of Ida’s cookies, I’ll feel her LOVE.

“Ida is probably at the old folks home or at the park, let’s find her. I miss my Ida Pearl. I like snuggling on her lap.”

Stubb, lucky for us, Ida likes DOG KISSES. Most people make faces and rub dog kisses off.

We find her in the park on her bench.

“Oh dear, TT, Ida Pearl looks sad and its MOTHER’S DAY!”

Look Out! The old gal has been crying! Stubb, grab a treat and run!

I wiggle close to her. I stretch my lips, puff out air, and out pops my amazing smile. I give her a wet kiss on her soft cheek.

“Stubby, I hoped you’d come. I feel better now. My son was visiting for Mother’s Day but he called and said maybe later!” Another tear rolls down over her wrinkles and disappears under her chin.

I snuggle closer to my Ida. “I love you Stubb. You’re my special, soft, warm friend.”

TT alert!! I’m WAITING! Where are the treats?

Ida Pearl opens a small brown bag. “I saved some lunch for you.”

I gobble the tuna sandwich, and it’s yummy.  I’m nibbling on a crunchy cookie, and TT is giggling.

Our dear Ida Pearl is delightful, but her weird, furry house slippers scare me!

Kids, hug your Mom, or a neighbor Mom or a Substitute Mom. It’s about love, help, hugs, smiles and caring.

Remember, God couldn’t be everywhere, so he created Mothers.

Cheerio,

Stubb and TT
